A young person sets out on the road.
They have nothing, not even their hands.
All they hold onto is faith that regrowth is possible...
... somewhere out in the wide and waiting world.
In Storms and Silver Hands, storyteller Hannah Moore weaves the fairy tale of The Handless Maiden with true and traditional stories from around the world – stories that can make us wonder at our human capacity for restoration, empowerment, agency and hope.
This dark and starry adventure considers what it means - out of the soil of troubled times - to grow back wild and full of wonder, and explores the themes of power, repair, aid and regrowth. An evening of tales and songs, and questions for the nightingales in the branches of your heart.
Old tales with fresh wisdom for current times…

An evening of folk and fairy tales from around the world that speak to the themes of restoration and repair.
- This event, open to public, comes at the end of a CPD workshop day for facilitators, exploring storytelling as an asset for restorative practice and processes, in collaboration with the Restorative Justice Council.
When I trained as a storyteller, I was asked how the tales passed down in the oral tradition can support the work I care about today. As a restorative justice facilitator, I worked up a repertoire of tales that bring to life the complexity, potential, wonder and magic that is possible when we turn our attention to humanising rather than othering.
So come, and let the doors of your heart be opened, let the possibilities within your gift be ignited, and let your connection with others and with the work you care about feel the fresh green sap of spring, as the fools and sages, monsters and marvels in these stories share their wisdom and reflections.
The story of the Trojan War is part of a great tapestry of Greek myths. Horses and Apples leads listeners on a journey through the tales that precede this infamous conflict, asking questions that still resonate today...
Which would you choose above all else: power, wisdom or love?
Once we've set ourselves to a course, when do we pass the point of no return?
And how much will we sacrifice in order to get what we want?
Step into the vivid mythic world of Greek gods and goddesses, princes and queens, prophecies, bloodshed, love, sex, revenge, magic, trickery, transformation, destiny and hope.
